The menu bar

The menu bar is located at the top of the window by default. The place can be changed, but that is covered in the global GNOME documentation.

The menubar has three menus: File, Actions and Help.

In the File menu you will find four items: New archive, Open, Preferences and Quit. Everyone does the job described in their name. Open opens a file, Preferences shows preferences window and so on...

The Actions menu has functions Extract, which uncompresses all or selected file(s), View, which allows your to view selected file and Test, which tests compressed archive. Please note that some file types are tested same time when file is opened and they are not tested again.

The toolbar

The toolbar has four buttons, Open, Extract, View and Quit. Each button actives its menu bar equivalent, so there is not much to tell about them. Their description can be found above.

The statusbar

The statusbar has two parts, left and right. The left one is active during uncompression (and viewing) and it shows current status of uncompression. The right one shows the name of the opened file.
